This award funds the CEI Core Facilities for Vision Research to provide centralized access to shared resources and expertise in ocular imaging, functional vision, and molecular informatics to support vision science research and prevent blindness.

Description

The Cole Eye Institute (CEI) Core Facilities for Vision Research will provide vision researchers essential resources to fulfill their mission. These resources include the ability to image eyes, measure changes in ocular functions, and identify molecular alterations in vision-threatening diseases by consolidating technologies in three core modules: (1) Ocular Imaging Core; (2) Functional Vision Core; and (3) Molecular Informatics Core. The Core facilities provide expertise in specific technologies and access to equipment to aid in the research endeavors of a vibrant and highly collaborative group of vision science investigators, which will continue to increase productivity and avoid duplication of equipment and effort.
