NIH funded project to study vascular contributions to white matter lesions and motor dysfunction in Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias, using postmortem brain tissue analysis and rodent models, awarded to Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences.
Description
This project aims to analyze postmortem brain tissues of AD patients with motor deficits and investigate the pathogenic mechanisms of motor dysfunction in rodent models of AD and FDD using biochemical, histological, genetic, and advanced MRI techniques. The project is funded by NIH grant PA-20-185, with an award amount of approximately $1,226,883, and involves collaboration with Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences and expertise from MPI Ahn and MPI Dyke.
