Description

This project aims to expand the Multiethnic Observational Study in American Asian and Pacific Islander Communities (MOSAAIC) cohort to include an additional 1,500 participants aged 65 and older. The study focuses on understanding aging concerns among Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander populations, which are currently poorly understood. The expansion will leverage existing infrastructure and community partnerships to recruit participants across diverse geographic regions in the U.S. The study will evaluate cardiometabolic and pulmonary outcomes, as well as social determinants of health (SDOH), demographic, cultural, behavioral, and biological factors influencing these outcomes. It will also assess aging-related health factors such as mobility, physical function, frailty, and cognitive health, with a focus on cognitive decline, impairment, and dementia.
