Description
This project aims to understand how Hedgehog (HH) signaling in the adult hypothalamus controls energy homeostasis, identify HH ligand sources, and test whether HH affects neuronal activity. It investigates whether HH regulates ciliary GPCRs like MC4R and MCHR1 involved in energy regulation, and how HH and ciliary GPCRs influence PKA activity. The research employs in vitro and in vivo methods, genetic and pharmacological approaches to elucidate the role of ciliary HH signaling in adult neuronal activity and energy balance.
