Description
This project aims to identify targeted therapeutic strategies for dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) by studying microRNAs (miRNAs) that are upregulated in end-stage heart failure. The research involves testing candidate miRNA targets, identifying target genes regulating sarcomeric and contractile functions, and comparing targets of mutation-specific and non-specific therapeutic miRNAs to expand understanding of heart failure mechanisms and develop personalized, mechanism-based therapeutics.
