Description

This project addresses a critical public health need by identifying profiles at age 4 years that predict persistence of speech sound disorder at age 7. The goal is to improve the ability to predict persistence or recovery from speech sound disorder when children are 4 years old by recruiting a large group of children with diverse speech abilities and following them annually to assess how skills in phonological processing, speech production, and language skills predict speech outcomes at age 7.
