Award to State University of New York Stony Brook to develop advanced computational tools for vasculature analysis in neuroscience, focusing on topology preservation and 3D imaging to support research into neurological diseases.

Description

This project proposes to establish a novel vasculature database and analytical platform for mouse brain vasculature, validating the informatics tools with proof-of-concept studies. The project aims to develop topology-preserving vessel segmentation methods, topological features, and visual analytic tools based on advanced mathematics of topology. The study will fill the knowledge gap by establishing detailed statistical mapping of vascular structures, supporting further physiological and pathophysiological studies in understanding Alzheimer's disease and stroke recovery/treatment.
