This award funds research to develop and validate a novel task to assess cognitive control related to social anxiety in real-world settings, aiming to improve brain-based interventions for adolescent social anxiety.

Description

The project aims to optimize and validate a novel, ecologically-valid task (Natural Reading) that will reliably assess neural and behavioral measures associated with social anxiety in the presence/absence of peers. The project involves two studies: a pilot to optimize the task design and a second to establish reliability and predictive power. Neural measures of Error Monitoring, along with behavioral measures, will be analyzed to predict social anxiety and anxiety levels.
