Description

This sole source pertains to the development, maintenance and hosting of Biotics and the Virginia NaturalHeritage Data Explorer (NHDE) by NatureServe. NatureServe, in partnership with Natural Heritage Programs, spearheads the network standardization of biodiversity datamanagement methods and rare species and natural community classifications that underpin both applications.Currently, Biotics is used by Natural Heritage Programs and Data Centre’s throughout North America, and atleast a dozen Programs have critical Environmental Review Tools (e.g. Virginia’s NHDE) that inform government permitting oversight.
