Research project funded by NIGMS to study nutrient sensing and nucleotide metabolism in cells, aiming to understand cellular growth regulation and identify new therapeutic targets.
Description
Understanding how cells sense available nutrients and subsequently orchestrate crucial decisions governing growth, proliferation, and differentiation represents a fundamental yet enigmatic aspect of cellular biology. Building on recent discoveries, this project aims to determine how cellular nucleotides are timely sensed and how metabolites contribute to the control of nucleotide metabolism. Ultimately, these findings may offer novel avenues for targeting signaling and metabolic pathways implicated in various human diseases.
