Continuation of the Produce Safety Alliance to Enhance Understanding and Compliance with the FSMA Produce Safety Rule

This award funds the continuation of the Produce Safety Alliance's efforts to educate stakeholders in the U.S. fresh produce supply chain about FSMA Produce Safety Rule compliance through updated training, educational materials, and expanded outreach.

Description

The project aims to continue the work of the Produce Safety Alliance (PSA) to educate growers, packers, and other stakeholders involved in the U.S. fresh produce supply chain regarding the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule (PSR). The PSA develops educational resources to enhance understanding and implementation of FSMA PSR requirements and Good Agricultural Practices. The initiative includes updating training curricula, developing educational materials in English and Spanish, and expanding outreach efforts to underserved groups. The project supports the current cadre of PSA Trainers and aims to increase efforts to mentor training teams, host continuing education, and produce safety educational materials.
