Description

The project aims to understand how the complement molecule C1q influences neurodegeneration and neuroinflammation in Multiple Sclerosis (MS). It investigates the role of microglia-derived C1q in propagating neuroinflammation and inducing astrocytes to secrete C3, which is necessary for synapse loss. The study will evaluate the role of C1q and C3 using molecular genetic tools and antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) to potentially rescue synapses and reduce neuroinflammation.
