Award to Emory University to develop ECLIPSE, a framework for making clinical trial eligibility criteria computable using EHR data, focusing on oncology, cardiology, and substance abuse disorder, to improve trial design and feasibility assessments.

Description

This project will develop and validate ECLIPSE, a standards-aligned framework that compiles full protocol eligibility criteria into computable artifacts that can be applied to structured and unstructured EHR data. The project aims to use data from Emory Healthcare, Winship Cancer Institute, and Grady Health to develop ECLIPSE in three clinical areas: oncology, cardiology, and substance abuse disorder. The products will enable health systems, investigators, and clinicians to more readily test treatment generalizability via target trial emulations, assess feasibility of hypothetical protocols, and inform the design of future trials from real-world data sources.
