Description

This project aims to understand the contribution of myelin to negative affective behaviors induced by fentanyl withdrawal and test whether restoring myelination can relieve these behaviors. The research will focus on the impact of fentanyl on myelination in the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) and investigate the role of myelin loss on withdrawal-induced negative affect. The study will explore how norepinephrine (NE) influences myelination and oligodendrocyte precursor cell (OPC) differentiation during withdrawal.
