Description
Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is a group of genetically and phenotypically heterogeneous connective tissue disorders that results in low bone mass, bone deformity, and bone fractures. This project investigates the therapeutic potential of the Wnt/Frizzled2 pathway for treating skeletal and extraskeletal manifestations of OI. Preliminary studies show increased bone mass in mouse models, with a central hypothesis that modulation of Wnt/Frizzled2 increases bone mass via activation of the mTORC1 pathway.
