Award to Howard University for the Data Science Shared Resource project to enhance cancer research data support and curation using advanced database technologies and AI.
Description
The Data Science Shared Resource (DSSR) of the H-H U54 initiative aims to provide comprehensive data support, ensure data integrity, and facilitate FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable) data curation. DSSR is co-led by experts from Johns Hopkins University Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center and Howard University. The DSSR will implement advanced database technologies, optimize data access, and establish an analytical framework for scientific rigor and reproducibility. It plans to develop advanced curation tools, incorporate artificial intelligence, and create analytic tools to manage data. The resource will enhance the data model for population-based research and develop infrastructure to support inclusive data analysis. The DSSR promotes collaborative code sharing and employs statistical methods, AI, and machine learning to deepen understanding and improve cancer research outcomes.
