Description
The Leadership and Administrative Core (LAC) of the Michigan Center for Contextual Factors in Alzheimer’s Disease (MCCFAD) promotes social and behavioral science research related to Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) and increases the research workforce dedicated to ADRD. It engages with three disparities populations in Michigan: Middle Eastern North African (MENA) Americans, Latinos, and African Americans. The LAC ensures integration and coordination of MCCFAD activities, leverages resources at the University of Michigan and partner institutions, and provides oversight for pilot projects and research scientist recruitment. It emphasizes community engagement, organizational and fiscal integrity, and the use of technology for effective management, supporting research on contextual factors influencing ADRD disparities and aiming to increase the ADRD workforce.
