This award funds research to precisely characterize healthy cognitive aging and distinguish it from pathologic aging using longitudinal data, neuroimaging, and biomarkers, with the goal of early prediction of cognitive decline and dementia.

Description

The proposed study aims to characterize the profile of healthy cognitive aging by linking pathologic indices to longitudinal cognitive trajectories and identifying healthy cognitive aging as residual change. It involves advanced neuroimaging, blood biomarkers, and statistical modeling based on longitudinal data from ROSMAP and other population studies to facilitate early and accurate identification of individuals at high risk of cognitive impairment.
