Description
This study will use stored blood and hair samples and clinical data from an ongoing birth cohort study to elucidate the independent effects of HIV and ARV exposure on the placenta and birth weight. The research aims to improve ARV selection and management during pregnancy to optimize birth outcomes by measuring ARV levels in dried blood spots and children's hair, comparing placental abnormalities, and determining effects on birth weight.
