Research project funded by NICHD to study the impact of sex chromosome dosage on gene regulation and placental development, using advanced molecular and functional approaches.
Description
The project aims to determine how sex chromosome dosage influences allelic gene regulation during placental development and how imbalances lead to impaired trophoblast differentiation and placental health. It investigates the effects of X and Y chromosome gene dosage on gene expression and placental function using ex vivo and in vitro models, including single-cell and single-nuclei assays, and functional studies on trophoblast organoids.
