Description

The developing mouse brain is a foundational experimental model for investigation of the origins of cell types in the mammalian brain and for studies of neurodevelopmental diseases. During development, the astonishing diversity of cell types present in the adult brain is thought to be established through sequential changes in gene expression during cellular maturation and differentiation, and further refinement with emerging brain connectivity and function. To gain a deeper understanding of this highly complex process, we aim to combine multiple single-cell genomics technologies to generate a comprehensive cell atlas of the developing mouse brain, intended to serve as a first-of-its-kind foundational resource to the neuroscience community for the study of mechanisms of mammalian brain development and neurodevelopmental disorders.
