Description
This study aims to identify risk and resilience factors, focusing on parental mental health among Black parents of autistic children (ages 3–9) and the effects on child behavioral and developmental outcomes. Using a cross-sectional, mixed-methods design, 300 Black parents/caregivers in NC and PA will be recruited. The study employs a community-partnered participatory framework to examine risk and resilience, with specific aims to understand the impact of trauma, social support, income, and social capital on parental and child outcomes. The research will inform future tailored interventions to address health disparities.
