This award funds a project to characterize the human auditory cortex using high-resolution MRI and functional connectivity measures to improve understanding and treatment of auditory processing deficits.

Description

Understanding the structure and function of auditory cortex is critical for a complete understanding of the human auditory system. This project employs a multimodal approach combining ultra-high-field (7T) MRI anatomical data at 0.35 mm³ resolution with task-based and resting-state functional measures to characterize the primary auditory region A1. The research aims to expand understanding of auditory cortical processing, aid in standardization, and inform treatment options for auditory processing deficits.
