Older adults face complex decisions, especially in financial and health domains, which decline with age. Poor decision making increases vulnerability to fraud, with over $35 billion lost annually. This study aims to quantify age-related changes in decision making, identify risk factors, and explore neural bases using neuroimaging. The research builds on prior longitudinal assessments of over 1,300 older adults, linking decision making with brain aging markers and Alzheimer’s disease. The goal is to develop interventions to improve decision making and health outcomes in aging populations.
