Description
This project studies the effects of state prenatal drug policies on drug screening, substance use disorder diagnosis and treatment, overdose, and maternal and child health care use. It also assesses state implementation of a recent federal child welfare policy reform across states with varying prenatal drug law contexts. The study uses a mixed-method, difference-in-differences approach across 16 states, analyzing racial disparities using Medicaid claims data from 2015-2022.
