Description
This project aims to develop and test a neuroprotective therapy against nerve agent exposure, specifically targeting status epilepticus (SE) induced by nerve agents like soman. The therapy involves a combination of LY293558, an AMPA/GluK1 receptor antagonist, and caramiphen, an antimuscarinic that also antagonizes NMDA receptors. The research will evaluate the efficacy of this combination in adult and aged male and female rats, comparing it with midazolam, the current standard treatment.
