A clinical trial funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse to study Bupropion's effectiveness in preventing postpartum smoking relapse in women who quit during pregnancy.

Description

This project investigates the use of Bupropion to prevent postpartum smoking relapse among women who quit smoking during pregnancy. It involves a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial enrolling 230 pregnant women motivated to stay abstinent postpartum. Participants will receive extended-release Bupropion or placebo starting 4 to 10 days postpartum for 12 weeks. Data collection includes biological samples and validated questionnaires at multiple time points. The study aims to address relapse risk factors such as depression, weight concerns, and smoking-related symptoms.
