Description

This project aims to characterize the transcription cycle structurally and functionally in the actinobacteria phylum, focusing on the pathogen Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The study will use cryo-EM and cryo-electron tomography to understand transcription initiation, elongation, pausing, and termination, and investigate transcription factors to elucidate molecular mechanisms of the entire transcription cycle, with implications for developing new antibiotics.
