Description

This project aims to understand the molecular mechanisms regulating female meiosis, focusing on spindle formation and positioning in oocytes lacking centrioles. The research will employ transgenic mouse models, genetic manipulation, optogenetics, and live imaging to investigate the regulation of microtubule organizing centers (MTOCs), the interaction between F-actin and microtubules, and the regulation of spindle-localized F-actin. The goal is to elucidate how these processes ensure accurate chromosome segregation and reduce errors during meiosis.
