Description
This project aims to investigate the role of long-range inhibitory neurons, particularly SST/nNOS interneurons, in regulating cortical rhythms and state transitions, especially during slow-wave sleep. Using intersectional genetic tools in mice, the study will explore how these neurons coordinate activity across large cortical areas and their role in generating synchronized slow oscillations between UP and DOWN states.
