Award for research on how sex hormones influence brain development during puberty using neuroimaging and machine learning techniques.
Description
This proposal aims to address the BRAIN Initiative goals of developing and applying technologies for innovative study of the relationships between biological processes, neural structure, and brain function, to further our understanding of how sex hormones exert organizing effects on brain development during puberty. The research integrates advanced biophysical modeling of diffusion-weighted imaging with neuroimaging and machine learning to study hormone effects on brain development in youth at various stages of pubertal maturation.
