Description

This project will leverage recently validated machine learning models to guide molecular testing of samples from high-priority bat species for zoonotic lineages of hemotropic mycoplasmas (hemoplasmas). Findings will uncover novel hemoplasma diversity in bats globally and greatly expand our understanding of the geographic and taxonomic distribution of zoonotic hemoplasma lineages, which ultimately can inform human health risks.
