Description
This project aims to measure person-specific levels of organic and inorganic pollutants to identify environmental determinants of recurrent major depressive disorder (rMDD) risk in large multigenerational pedigrees from the Mexican American Family Study (MAFS). The study leverages phenotypic and genetic data to detect pollutant influences and genotype-pollutome interactions on rMDD risk, with replication in an independent cohort. The project uses genomic tools to enhance identification of environmental risk factors and study genotype-environment interactions.
