The California Department of Parks and Recreation, Sierra District / Northern Division, has awarded a contract to Wagners CFT LLC for the supply of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composite materials, including prefabricated decking systems, for the replacement of the Mono Lake ADA boardwalk trail. The contract specifies the delivery of 740 lineal feet of FRP boardwalk materials, including mini-mesh decking panels, stainless steel hardware, and brackets, to Mono Lake Tufa State Natural Reserve. The materials must be manufactured with continuous ECR glass fiber, vinyl ester resin, and painted with a two-part fluoropolymer coating in RAL 080-30-26 (Smoked Oak). The project involves constructing a 6-foot-wide boardwalk supported by concrete Diamond Piers, engineered for spans of 20 feet and a live load of 100 psi. The award was announced via an addendum, with the contract to be finalized with Wagners CFT LLC, located in Cresson, Texas. The procurement was conducted by the Sierra District / Northern Division of the California Department of Parks and Recreation, with Ryan Marino as the procurement official. The award includes detailed technical specifications, product quantities, and delivery requirements, with no specific OEMs or vendors explicitly named in the award documentation.
Description
Contractor to provide materials for the replacement of the Mono Lake ADA boardwalk trail. Boardwalk materials to be composed of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composite materials and manufactured using continuous ECR glass fiber and vinyl ester resin. All structural members will have non-woven polyester veil applied during the manufacturing process. Due to strict scenic corridor constraints and a high alkaline and UV exposure environment, FRP materials must be painted in a two-part fluoropolymer coating such as Vitreflon or approved equal and must be RAL 080-30-26 (Smoked Oak) in color. The boardwalk required is 740 lineal feet and 6 feet width outside to outside. Decking required is to be 38mm mini-mesh decking with anti-slip surface and in panels 4 feet by 6 feet by 1.5 inches thick. Bull rail edging to attach flush with outside of decking for total of 6-foot-wide decking surface. Hardware and brackets to be stainless steel and provided in full to connect all boardwalk materials directly to concrete Diamond Pier foundation, provided by Parks, and construct entire boardwalk structure. Due to sensitive wetland environment, spans between Diamond Pier foundations need to be 20 foot and engineered for 100 psi live load.
