Description
This project addresses innate mechanisms that can be exploited to induce broad immunoglobulin isotype responses, including secretory IgA responses, by injected vaccines to improve protection against infectious pathogens such as Ebola and Zika. Alum, a widely used adjuvant, triggers innate signals that restrict antibody responses and prevent IgA production. The research aims to identify molecules produced by myeloid cells that inhibit IgA responses and develop strategies to enhance mucosal immunity.
