Research project focused on understanding vascular cell communication and developing diagnostic imaging techniques for systemic sclerosis-related pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Description

This project aims to define how cells in the blood vessels in the lung from persons who suffer from systemic sclerosis communicate with each other and promote the development of disease in those blood vessels. It includes a first-in-human study to define a new imaging technique for better detection of blood vessel disease in lungs, potentially shaping principles of disease development and offering improved detection and treatment methods for systemic sclerosis-related pulmonary arterial hypertension.
