This NIH grant supports research on resident memory T cells in the synovium to understand and develop therapies for arthritis flares in rheumatoid arthritis and juvenile idiopathic arthritis patients.

Description

The project aims to define the mediators of TRM development and maintenance in the synovium and explore therapeutic interventions using mouse models and human synovial organoids. It focuses on rheumatoid arthritis and juvenile idiopathic arthritis, chronic autoimmune diseases of the joint, by studying synovial resident memory T cells that mediate arthritis flares and are a therapeutic target.
