The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services, specifically its Divisions of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) and Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS), awarded multiple interlocal contracts to Washoe County Human Services to administer the Medicaid County Match Program. These contracts, effective from July 1, 2017, through June 30, 2026, involve the county providing non-federal share funding for medical assistance to indigent individuals in long-term care facilities, with total amounts ranging from approximately $12.5 million to $37 million across different periods. The agreements include provisions for administrative services, eligibility determination, claims processing, provider reimbursement, and confidentiality, with specific amendments increasing maximum contract amounts due to rising medical costs. The contracts are governed by Nevada state law, require approval from the Nevada State Board of Examiners, and involve collaboration between state agencies and Washoe County. The awards support the strategic objective of maintaining safe, secure, and healthy communities.
