Description

The Clinical Core of the KU ADRC serves as the central hub for clinical and translational Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) and AD-related dementia (ADRD) research at KU. Its mission is to provide infrastructure, coordination, and expertise to facilitate high-quality, impactful studies. The core maintains a longitudinal ADRC Cohort of approximately 500 actively followed participants and provides a shared research ecosystem to enable investigators to launch and complete clinical studies and translate discoveries into practice. In the current funding cycle, the core fulfilled 184 resource requests from 75 investigators, supporting 67 requests leveraging the ADRC Cohort, which resulted in 1,011 participant enrollments. It also supported operations of 59 clinical trials spanning NIH, industry, and investigator-initiated projects. The core contributes specimens and imaging data to national initiatives, aligning with network priorities.
