NIH funds a project to test an EHR-integrated mobile health intervention to reduce readmissions after bladder cancer surgery, assessing feasibility and acceptability through a pilot trial.
Description
This NIH-funded project aims to assess the feasibility and acceptability of a novel electronic health record-integrated mobile health intervention to improve postoperative outcomes in bladder cancer patients undergoing cystectomy, with the goal of reducing hospital readmissions and improving patient care. The project involves developing and testing a multifaceted, electronic health record-integrated mobile health intervention aimed at reducing readmissions following cystectomy in bladder cancer patients. The project will define feasibility and acceptability through a pilot randomized trial and prepare for a future multi-site R01-level trial. The intervention includes daily symptom monitoring, streamlined communication, and targeted patient education.
