Description
The Brain Research Alliance in Youth with Type 1 Diabetes (BRAINY-T1D) Study is a multicenter longitudinal study of prepubertal children (4- to 9-years of age) with recently diagnosed T1D and a demographically similar comparison group without diabetes. The study will identify risk and protective factors for neurocognitive outcomes and inform future strategies to prevent or mitigate diabetes-related neurocognitive difficulties. It involves comprehensive cognitive, metabolic, neuroimaging, and psychosocial assessments over an 18-month period.
