Description
This project seeks to understand the role of serum advanced glycation end-products in the high frequency of tendon injury and impaired function in millions of Americans with diabetes. It will use genetic mouse models and human studies to delineate the role of serum AGEs and RAGE in tendon ECM disorganization and biomechanical impairment, aiming to develop new prevention and treatment strategies.
