The project funded by the National Cancer Institute focuses on improving lung cancer surveillance and outcomes in diverse populations by analyzing real-world data and using simulation models to inform clinical guidelines and practice.
Description
This project aims to evaluate the effectiveness of lung cancer surveillance strategies using real-world data and simulation modeling to inform clinical practice and policy. It will create a unique data source to study, understand, and optimize lung cancer surveillance and downstream outcomes for patients with early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who have completed curative-intent therapy. The project leverages multilevel data from electronic health records, claims, and system-level factors from a network of community practices serving Florida, Georgia, and Alabama.
