Description

The research aims to develop an age-relevant preclinical in vitro model of human astrocytes to investigate DNA methylation and transcriptional signatures associated with aging and Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The study will validate an “age-in-a-dish” model using direct conversion of adult human fibroblasts to induced-astrocytes (FDIAs), capturing age-related molecular and cellular phenotypes. The project will evaluate the relationship between DNA methylation and astrocyte function, contributing to understanding the molecular etiology of age-related brain disorders.
