Longitudinal Radio-pathomic Mapping of Non-Enhancing Tumor Growth in Glioblastoma

Recipient

Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI, United States

Award Amount

$602,121.00

Ceiling

$602,121.00

Awarded

May 26, 2026

Identifier

1R37CA311064-01

The award funds a project to develop advanced radio-pathomic mapping techniques for glioblastoma, focusing on non-enhancing tumor regions that are not well detected by current MRI methods. This will enable better monitoring and treatment targeting, potentially improving patient outcomes.

Description

This research project aims to develop and validate advanced imaging analysis methods using the world's largest neuro-oncology brain bank to create non-invasive maps that detect the full extent of tumor invasion beyond traditional MRI boundaries by incorporating second-order morphometric and molecular features and conducting retrospective analysis of non-enhancing tumor growth dynamics over time. The goal is to provide clinicians with non-invasive tools for monitoring glioblastoma pathology in vivo, improving treatment targeting and response monitoring in areas of occult tumor invasion.
