This NIH grant funds a clinical trial testing anti-TNFα therapy to slow or prevent motor and cognitive symptoms in prodromal synucleinopathies, with detailed immunologic and imaging studies to understand disease mechanisms.

Description

A pioneering, prospective, randomized, double-blind parallel group study designed to assess the potential of anti-TNFα (adalimumab) to slow or prevent the emergence of motor and cognitive symptoms of synucleinopathy. The study involves immunophenotyping, neuroimaging, and clinical assessments in subjects with REM Sleep Behavior Disorder to explore the role of TNF pathway in synucleinopathies progression.
