Research project funded by NIAMS to study ENPP1's role in bone mass regulation and develop therapeutic approaches for related bone disorders using novel animal models and biologics.

Description

The proposed research aims to identify pathways and mechanisms by which ENPP1 induces low bone mass and explore therapeutic approaches for paradoxical mineralization states. The study will investigate signaling pathways, both catalytically dependent and independent, regulating bone mass, using novel animal models and proprietary biologics. The research addresses critical gaps in understanding disorders like hereditary osteoporosis and CKD-MBD.
