Description

This study aims to elucidate the patterns and mechanisms of bioenergetic dysfunction, such as mitochondrial respiratory dysfunction, glycolytic failure, or failure of energy reserves in vivo, using advanced neuroimaging techniques including PET radioligands for mitochondrial Complex I, FDG-PET for glycolytic energy metabolism, and 7T 31P-MRS for ATP assessment. The study will evaluate mitochondrial and bioenergetic contributions across the clinical spectrum of Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB), characterize mitochondrial dysfunction progression, dissect bioenergetic pathways, analyze relationships with cognitive and peripheral measures, and compare dysfunction between DLB and Alzheimer’s disease.
