Development and regulatory approval of PointCheckTM, a portable non-invasive device to detect neutropenia in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, aiming to reduce infections and hospital readmissions.

Description

This Phase IIB SBIR project seeks to optimize, validate, and obtain regulatory approval for PointCheckTM, a device for continuous monitoring of cancer chemotherapy patients at home. It detects severe neutropenia to enable early intervention, potentially preventing 50% of serious infections and reducing hospital readmissions and morbidity. The project builds on previous validation studies, with plans to produce pilot units, conduct pivotal clinical trials, and submit regulatory applications.
