Description
This project aims to develop animal models of solid organ transplantation followed by cell therapy delivery and longitudinal tracking of infused cells by MRI. Leveraging discarded human donor organs, the project will create a clinically relevant MRI-based cell tracking platform to monitor infused regulatory T cells (Tregs) and other immunomodulatory cells such as M2 macrophages and engineered dendritic cells in real time. The goal is to study their distribution, retention, and interaction within vascular and tissue compartments, ultimately helping to overcome obstacles to achieving durable immune tolerance and long-term graft survival.
